What is sleep training?
Sleep training involves teaching your baby to fall asleep independently and stay asleep longer, using gentle methods tailored to your baby's needs and age.
When should I start sleep training?
It’s generally recommended to start sleep training after 5 months of gestational age, when babies are developmentally ready to learn independent sleep skills.
Is sleep training safe?
Yes! Sleep training is safe when done with age-appropriate methods. I focus on gentle and supportive approaches that prioritize your baby’s well-being.
How long will it take for my baby to sleep through the night?
Every baby is different, but most families see improvements within 1 to 2 weeks. The exact timeline depends on your baby’s temperament and the approach we use.
Do I need to let my baby cry it out?
No, I will never encourage letting your baby cry alone. I use gentle techniques that help your baby learn to sleep independently without stress and I like working with methods that are as gradual, gentle, and supportive as you need.
Do I need to have a separate room for my baby's sleep training?
No, a separate room is not required for sleep training. Your baby can sleep in their own room, a shared nursery, or even in your bedroom, depending on your family's setup and comfort level. However, they do need to have their own crib (if under 3 years old) or bed (if over 3 years old) to ensure a safe and effective sleep training process. We can tailor the approach to fit your current sleeping arrangement while helping your little one develop independent sleep skills.
Will sleep training affect breastfeeding or night feedings?
I take a personalized approach that works around your family’s needs, including how breastfeeding and night feedings are incorporated into the sleep training process.
What if my baby is already 1 year old or older?
I offer customized plans for babies and toddlers of all ages. It’s never too late to improve sleep habits and create a more restful environment for your family.
Will this really work for my baby?
Your Personalized Plan is carefully designed to deliver results, but for it to be effective, it’s important that you, and anyone caring for your baby, follow it as consistently as possible.
What is the process to begin a Personalized Sleep Plan?
When you choose a Personalized Sleep Plan, here’s what you can expect:
Select your plan: choose the plan that best fits your needs, based on the time you’d like to receive support from me.
Complete the discovery questionnaire: after your payment is processed, you will receive an email within 24-48 hours with a link to the discovery questionnaire. This will provide me with important details about your child, family dynamics, sleep habits, feeding routines, and any challenges you're facing.
Schedule your review call: once you’ve completed the questionnaire, you’ll schedule a video call to go over the plan. You should schedule this call, keeping in mind that the following 14-16 days should be ordinary, without travel, vaccinations, or any non-routine events. During this call, we’ll discuss the action plan tailored to your child’s sleep needs and how to implement the necessary changes to reach your sleep goals. I’ll address any questions and make any needed adjustments.
Receive your sleep plan: 24 hours before our review call, you will receive a PDF of your customized Sleep Plan, which we will review together in detail during the call.
Begin your sleep training: after our call, you’ll have 2 calendar days to begin your baby’s sleep training, along with the continued support and follow-up based on the plan you selected.
